Doughball Descent

A puzzle-platformer-roguelite about eating tasty food and smashing your way through the Food Ziggurat!

Collect and stack items to enhance your run, and encounter zany events between stages

History

DbD initially began in 2020, as a game jam project between me and my then-partner, Sam. Though it didn't place in the competition, it received a lot of positive attention, which encouraged me to develop further. The jam release only had 3 areas of the 5 I had planned, as well as missing a satisfying end to a run; I had wanted to put a boss battle with Anubis at the bottom of the Food Ziggurat since the beginning, which I am only now beginning to realise.

Blompo's Palanquest

An arcade RTS where you control the haughty Prince Blompo and command your royal retinue

Send your minions to combat, or to collect food and valuables, but do so judiciously: they cannot carry you and do your bidding at the same time!

History

Blompo's was created for the same jam in 2022 and was received warmly. I was approached by a publisher to finish the game soon after graduating college but never went forward with the plan

Antibiotic Commando

A smaller project, created in 4 days for the 2024 GMTK Game Jam

You control a microscopic robot tasked to cleanse the infection of an unseen host. Combat larger parasites by using the Nanotank, which entirely changes your combat and controls.

There were initially plans for far more vehicles, designs exist for a UFO and walker-type vehicle but neither were never implemented due to time constraints. It kind of deflated the whole changing scale gimmick to only have 2 size stages but it was hard enough to implement those in the time allotted

SIFWAD

An (overly) ambitious top-down roguelite where you start as one of 6 backgrounds, which each play entirely differently!

Collect ingredients and brew potions as the scheming scientist, create and command an army of drones as the ingenious inventor, manage and exploit your position to deal tremendous damage as the fearless fencer, curate a vast library of powerful spells as the wizard, choose the right arrow for every job and aim true as the acrobatic archer, or redirect your enemies' attacks and movement as the artful dodger

Trivia

This game was created as my high school senior project all the way back in 2018. The name stands for Scientist, Inventor, Fencer, Wizard, Archer, and Dodger

I have no idea where the files for this project went, such is ancient history
